As my summer vacation in California comes to an end, I have done some last minute trips with friends and family to get my fill of my home state before I head abroad to Europe for the next five months. A fitting final outing in the US was going to Monterey with my family for the fourth of July. A quick, cool weekend near the ocean was a relaxing and fun way to spend the holiday weekend as we spent time at the beach and walked in and out of different local shops.
It was fun looking at all the boats docked in the bay. The sky was also interesting with cloud cover seemingly only over the city of Monterey while clear skies were visible in the distance over the mountain ranges, as seen in this above photo.
Such a calming view. Although it doesn't show it in the photo, the beach was full of families barbecuing and little kids playing (including my brothers and dad who took out a football and were running around).
I'm always a fan of a good seagull photo haha. These seagulls were especially friendly and let me get super close before flying off.
Happy boys in my family pausing to pose for a photo as my mom and I stood on the pier above.
