Dublin is known for its beautiful cathedrals and churches so we decided to go check out St. Patrick's Cathedral. This is the site, as the story goes, where St. Patrick would baptize Christians on his trip to Dublin. Now the Cathedral for the Church of Ireland (an Anglican Church), St. Patrick's Cathedral was a marvel to look at, especially knowing that it was built in the 1100s.
These clouds were moving very quickly in the sky! From the first shot of the Cathedral to the photo of the Cathedral below gives you a sense of how quickly the weather changes from bright blue skies to pouring rains.
Over the course of the weekend, we managed to fit in time to visit the Guinness Factory. Believing it would be a short tour with little bits and bobs to look at, we were mightily surprised to find so many interesting and colorful things to view, learn, and explore whilst in the factory. It felt almost like a museum along with detailed explanations of exactly what goes into making Guinness.
After finishing our tour, we reached the Gravity Bar which was at the very top of the factory, many stories above the city of Dublin. With all glass windows, we could see a 360 degree view of the entire city and the rolling green hills beyond.
Irish pride is very important to this once oppressed nation. There were many Irish flags proudly on display throughout the city.
There were lots of statues and monuments devoted to Irish revolutionaries who helped gain Ireland's freedom from the British.
