First Day in Stuttgart, Germany

Germany is so beautiful and clean! After taking a quarter of German at UCLA, I had some sense of the culture and language in the nation, but after arriving, it was even more orderly, efficient, and clean than I ever imagined! The streets are neatly paved and I have yet to see litter of any kind. Their upkeep of the old, historic buildings is also impressive and they are all used today for stores and homes! I am also very impressed by their kindness to nature. There are open fields everywhere because the Germans don't believe in filling in every space with shopping centers or neighborhoods. My cousin, Lisa, even told me that she thinks killing bees here is illegal (if on purpose) because Germany is so animal and nature-friendly.

This is a snapshot from the "new palace" in Stuttgart which is still really old.

Loved the clothing on this statue! I can't believe people actually wore things like this haha.

Me in front of the pretty palace and castle. There were naked kids running and swimming in the fountain (so I cropped them out haha), but it was so funny seeing the kids swimming naked and no one reacting like it was odd.

Only in Germany would they use plastic pretzels as decoration in a clothing store. I was so entertained.

This is literally the cutest little kid I have ever seen! He was holding a teddy bear that was half his size with yellow overalls that were too big for him and he had a pacifier in his mouth as he walked next to his mom pushing his empty stroller. He heard the shutter and turned around to look at me for the photo. Such a cute little German kid! I thought he was a life-size Paddington bear.

Super old Christian Church founded in the 1st century AD. I couldn't believe how old it was!

I loved the metal artwork of the kid walking across the buildings on a tightrope. I thought it was so fun! Reminded me of Peter Pan or Man on a Wire.

My first fest which apparently are all the rage in Germany. This one was Onion Fest where everything had onion in it!

Cobblestone streets everywhere.

Vineyards surrounding the city.

Sausage and meat counter at the farmer's market. I saw fresh meats that I didn't even know existed.

I thought these were cranberries and it turns out that they are actually tiny German tomatoes!

Downtown Stuttgart sculpture painted like the German flag.
