A colorful summer afternoon well spent in the lovely Venice, CA area of Abbot Kinney. Quite separate in feel from Venice Beach, Abbot Kinney is a cute couple of blocks of boutiques, coffee shops, and eateries. With its charming First Fridays Food Truck nights and colored with Venice's signature street art, Abbot Kinney is a great place to spend an afternoon with friends.
Saw this simple window decal on one of the local shop windows. Inside was full of great coffee table books and little trinkets to bring home.
Most of my friends know that an afternoon outing with me usually involves a photoshoot, but I am lucky that they are good sports about it.
Couldn't help but make Gaby stop here as her outfit perfectly complimented the storefront.

The colorful murals throughout Abbot Kinney make fun backdrops and add whimsy to the sidewalks.
Loved these childlike murals.

The colors throughout Abbot Kinney make it unique and exciting to explore.
This miniature mural was my favorite throughout the walk. It was located in an obscure location with the figures no larger than a few inches tall, but the detail put into them and the way they appeared to walk on the sidewalk grabbed my attention.
Beatles reference = always
As we were taking pictures, a photographer walked past and asked us if we'd like him to photograph us. Of course we accepted and he ended up taking a bunch of great shots while his friend kept us laughing and entertained. This was the result, much to our excitement.
An LA classic, we ended the afternoon with a refreshing break at Lemonade. Gaby got a mango flavor while I opted for the cucumber mint.
